2024 Spring Retreat

April 19-21, 2024

The flowers are blooming - and so is the creativity! Spring into our 3rd annual WestWind Creative Spring Retreat at The Journey Home near Dearborn, MO.

Why Retreat?

Have you ever experienced the magic that happens when a group of women come together over a common goal? What about when those women are able to gather in a calm, distraction-free environment where they can truly relax and be themselves? We can tell you that the experience can be truly revitalizing!

When you prioritize time for a full-on retreat – not just an hour here or there – you can make positive changes in your health and well-being. The Cleveland Clinic reports, “Research has found that taking breaks can improve your mood, boost your performance, and increase your ability to concentrate and pay attention. When you don’t give your mind a chance to pause and refresh, you might also be more likely to experience burnout and the health problems that go hand-in-hand with chronic stress.”

What if your Spring cleaning this year included a little refresh for you? Experience a life-giving retreat that will renew your spirit and join in the rebirth of the season.

We help you disconnect to reconnect.

We’ll handle the details while you relax, recharge, and reconnect with your creative spirit.

At our retreat you will receive:

  • Retreat weekend coordinated by a professional event planner who’s been creating memorable experiences for over 20 years.

  • Two nights accommodations in an amazing, updated historic home.

  • Expert instruction on exciting projects and all the necessary supplies.

  • Five delicious meals (and someone else to cook and do the dishes!)

  • Connection with amazing women who have similar interests and hobbies.

You can also choose to enjoy the following additional activities:

  • Add on an extra night and a field trip to Quilt Town USA - Hamilton, MO.

Food, glorious food

We take meal time very seriously at a WestWind Retreat. We want to treat you to scrumptious foods that you may not get to enjoy at home.

We kick off the event with dinner the first night and then move into a scrumptious breakfast the next morning. A working lunch is available as you tackle projects and we will enjoy dinner together again that evening. Before you leave, we will send you off with a delightful breakfast and lots of smiles!

There will also be snacks and beverages available throughout your stay to refuel those creative engines. No one goes hungry and there will always be dessert.

**We will do our best to accommodate dietary restrictions during the event. You can share your needs with us on the questionnaire you receive at registration and we can talk it through.**

Frequently Asked Questions

I’ve never done anything like this before! Are you sure I’ll enjoy it?  It can be intimidating to join in on an activity with others you don’t know, but we can testify that there is something special that happens when creative people join together. There is a willingness to share ideas and a graciousness that is hard to explain. In the end, the worst that can happen is that you get a weekend away with good food and dedicated time to read a book with a hot beverage in your hand. Sounds like a wager you’d be willing to take, right?

Can I reserve a private room? This retreat has the option for one private room. Please contact Janell if you would prefer a room all to yourself and find out if space is available. Otherwise, we will make every possible effort to place you in a room with others who share your interests.

Can I bring my own craft projects to work on? For sure! Just expect that you may be in for some show-and-tell!

How many spaces are available? There is space available for 19 registrants.

My friends and I want to come together – can we do that? Yes!!! As long as there is space available, you can register a group of friends. You will receive a questionnaire to complete upon registration where you can indicate your roommate preferences.

Other questions? There are no silly questions! Write to us at janell.peterson@gmail.com or call (913) 730-0771 for more details.
